Chris's apple peel chutney

Chris bought a bargain huge bag of applesthe other day to cook down for apple crumble. Left with a mound of apple peelings he decided to make a chutney. He didn't have a recipe and has never made chutney but he just guessed what to put in it. I was convinced it would be horrible.

As he was cooking it, he had a little taste and confirmed that it did indeed taste awful. So we left it bubbling on the hob and went away and had our dinner. When he wet back and tried it again, it had miraculously become delicous! Here is a photo of the finished chutney, about to become a yummy cheezly and alfalfa sandwich.

Chris's Yummy Apple Peel Chutney (makes one large jarful)

1/2 cup malt vinegar

  • Put in jar

  2. This weekend I am going to can apple slices and use the peels to make this chutney. I am so happy to have a recipe that uses the peels!
